MAR BRASIL

Globoplay / Futura/ TV Cultura
Documentary - 10 x 30'

Mar Brasil is a documentary series that travels the Brazilian coast to show what traditional communities, researchers and institutions are doing to face the enormous threats to the sea and act in the defense of marine biodiversity and the preservation of the South Atlantic.

Throughout the episodes, we will learn more about the diversity, knowledge, secrets and reality of those who depend on the Brazilian sea. When navigating incredible places, the series leads us to reflect on our own habits and how our actions directly affect the health of the ocean.

This expedition is led by photographer, diver and sailor Luciano Candisani and through his eyes, we will learn stories of those who make the sea a source of livelihood. In conversations with specialists, Candisani also reveals the bridge that unites science with the traditional knowledge of the populations along this journey.

On board Mar Brasil, the team led by Lygia Barbosa also traveled the world in 2019, in an unprecedented documentary on the importance of the ocean in the lives of all of us.
